Thomson Environmental Systems is pleased to welcome Jackson Shanks as our new Field Environmental Specialist for New Zealand.
Jackson brings over a decade of experience designing, installing, and maintaining environmental monitoring technology in challenging and remote environments. His work spans hydrology, meteorology, geohazard monitoring, ambient air quality networks, with a focus on delivering reliable, long-term data from sites that are often difficult to access and operate in.
From mountain weather stations and active volcanic monitoring to landslide stability instrumentation and air quality sensor deployments, Jackson specialises in deploying high-performance systems which collect crucial datasets for compliance and decision-makers. He has worked extensively with regional councils, scientific agencies, and engineering firms to support environmental insight and risk mitigation.
Based in New Zealand, Jackson will also support TES projects and customers, bringing:
· Expertise in deep-field instrumentation and data reliability
· Practical experience with ambient air networks, remote power, telemetry, and ruggedised hardware
· A solutions-focused approach tailored to local site challenges and customer requirements.
